Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Fighters Party

Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in power within the urban setting.

Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.

This warrior group features Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

With an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.

This explains, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.

Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

For one thing, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing started the narrative’s action—used the foes for his own means, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The antagonist then paid off his obligations and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each character has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
  • Kattigan has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
  • The warrior and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to execute the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
  • But, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the group reach locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.

This results in them few options but to head to the northern region in quest for Casimir.

What’s Next?

From episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Explorers and Planners tables.

Fans can expect learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the season’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
